Dr. Ian J. Henderson
Dr. Henderson is a native “Townie” born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He has been providing Optometric care to Newfoundlanders since the summer of 1989 after completing his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. Early 1990, he opened his independent optometric practice in Churchill Square. His practice has been built on compassionate care and word of mouth.

Dr. Amy Oldford
Dr. Oldford is a native Newfoundlander who was raised in Grand Falls –Windsor. She completed her undergrad degree at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick before embarking on her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Waterloo which she completed in 2007. Dr. Oldford enjoys all aspects of family Optometry and has a significant paediatric following.

Dr. Rhonda Witte
Dr. Witte (pronounced “wit-ee”) is a native of Kamloops, BC who married a Newfoundlander, the rest is history. Dr. Witte graduated with her Doctor of Optometry Degree in 2004 from the University of Waterloo. Prior to Optometry School she completed a Bachelor of Science degree through UBC and a Masters degree at the University of Alberta. She has been working part-time in our clinic since 2012.

Janice
Optometric Assistant
Janice grew up in Melrose, Trinity Bay, NL. She started working in our clinic in 1998 after completing the Office Administration program at the College of the North Atlantic in St. John’s. She subsequently completed the Optometric Assistance Course through the Canadian Association of Optometrists and gained her accreditation as a Certified Canadian Optometric Assistant (CCOA).

Cindy
Optometric Assistant
Cindy is originally from St. Alban’s, and joined our Practice in 2019. She is a Certified Canadian Optometric Assistant, and can often be found in the dispensary helping people find the right frame!

Mary
Reception/Appointment Booking/Billing
Mary, a proud native of St. Shott’s, NL, is our front desk expert. She joined our clinic in 2009 after raising two girls. Mary has completed the first module of the Canadian Association of Optometrists Optometric assistant’s course.

Judy
Appointment Booking/Billing & Administrative Assistant
Judy has been involved in our clinic for many years. She has been regularly visible since we moved to Elizabeth Ave in 2012.

Tracy
Optometric Assistant
Tracy, a native of New Brunswick is our pretest expert. She joined our clinic in 2017. Tracy completed the Optometric Assistance Course through the Canadian Association of Optometrists and is an Accredited Certified Canadian Optometric Assistant (CCOA).

Kassidy
Reception/Appointment Booking/Billing
Kassidy, joined our clinic in 2019, after completing the Medical Office Administration program at the College of the North Atlantic. She is originally from Bay de Verde, NL.

Licensed Optician
Courtney is originally from Barrie, Ontario and joined our practice in 2020. She is a licensed Optician and we are thrilled to have her expertise at our clinic.
